Touristic Bus Lines

traveling by public transportation

In the Northern Eifel, you can embark on tours particularly well using public transportation: a well-developed network of hiking buses, tourist bus lines, as well as bike and hiking train stations make it easy to leave your car behind. Many starting and ending points of Eifel loops, Eifel trails, and long-distance hiking trails can be easily reached by bus and train. This provides ideal opportunities for circular tours, stage hikes, or spontaneous itinerary changes along the way.

Some tourist bus lines operate all year round, others seasonally from Easter to November. Depending on the route, they run daily, on weekends, as well as on holidays and bridge days. This opens up new possibilities for your tour planning: you determine the starting and ending points freely, combine short or long stages, and remain flexible while on the go, for example by spontaneously shortening your hike and hopping on a hiking bus.

Especially convenient are the Eifelsteig Hiking Bus and the bus lines to the Eifel National Park.

They take you directly to central starting points, such as stage towns along the trail, the Kermeter area, or popular hiking trails and excursion destinations. Tourist bus lines also connect hiking and cycling paths, sights, and train stations sensibly from the Ahr Valley.

The offer is complemented by MiKE lines, which, starting from the main towns, flexibly connect smaller towns, starting points of EifelSchleifen and EifelSpuren, as well as special excursion destinations. This enables new, direct connections between towns, landscapes, and experiences away from the classic main axes.

Traveling by buses and trains in the northern Eifel is not an additional offer but part of the nature experience. Being on the move with public transport means here: more freedom while hiking, relaxed return journeys without a car, and the opportunity to discover the landscape consciously and with a good view.
