The Green Euro
Preserve nature together.
The Green Euro supports projects of the Mountain Forest Project e. V. in the region. The cooperation is based on a contractual basis and an annually defined financial contribution from the Nordeifel Tourism GmbH.
The projects of the Mountain Forest Project e.V. are transparently organized, regionally anchored, and locally experienceable – from the protection of sensitive natural areas to the maintenance of our unique cultural landscape. The Green Euro does not compensate or offset emerging emissions.
This year, the projects in the Nordeifel region will take place from October 25th to November 7th, 2026. Specifically, open-land measures in the juniper areas (limestone grasslands) of Eierberg, Reinersberg, and Lenzenkelberg in the municipality of Blankenheim are in focus.
In the area of Wasserdell in the municipality of Dahlem, trees are being removed from the heathland. For the first time, the Bergwaldprojekt e.V. is also active in the decommissioned section of the Klein Vernich gravel pit. There, valuable small bodies of water are being freed up for numerous amphibian species.
In all multi-day arrangements of the Nordeifel Tourism GmbH, the Green Euro is already included: One euro per guest and day of stay, which flows directly into specific nature and environmental projects in the region.
Good to know: You can also voluntarily contribute the Green Euro – as a conscious sign for the preservation of the Nordeifel and its natural diversity.
All revenues generated will be provided in full to the Bergwaldprojekt e.V.
