Active and Nature in the northern Eifel
Hiking world of the North Eifel
It is wonderful that you are interested in an active vacation in the adventure region Eifel National Park, this region has a lot to offer.
In the northern Eifel you can hike on legendary trails. We recommend the EifelSteig from Aachen to Trier, the Roman Canal Trail from Nettersheim to Cologne, the Ahr-Steig, or the 85 kilometre long Wilderness Trail, which leads right through the National Park. The newest trails are the Eifel Traces & Eifel Loops.
Eifel National Park

More fantastic hiking trails can be discovered in the Eifel National Park. For example the Wilderness Trail in the Wild Kermeter, which allows for a close encounter with natu-re. The National Park can alternatively be explored by bicycle, boat, or with a carriage. We recommend you to take a detour to the Red Deer Viewing Gallery and to the Bird Watching station. Ranger tours take place on an almost daily basis and are highly recommended.
Cycle country North Eifel

Cyclers will find the perfect routes between the highlands in the south, the Börde lands-cape in the north, and the signposted routes within the district of Euskirchen. You can work up an appetite on the River cycle paths along the River Erft and the River Ahr as well as the Moated Castles Route. For leisurely cycling you can rent Pedelecs (E-Bikes) at multiple stations. The Free Ride Eifel route is perfect for mountainbikers looking for a challenge.
The starlit skies of the Eifel

What has become invisible in the cities due to light pollution, reveals itself in the Star Park in the Eifel National Park. Millions of stars, the Milky Way, and the moon with its silvery shadow appear to be within reach. The Astronomy Workshop, stars without bor-ders, offers exciting star hikes on day- or multi-day packages.
Water Fun North Eifel

The North Eifel offers many opportunities for activities in the water, for those looking to relax, for families, and also for athletes. If you wish to escape from everyday life, we recommend a visit to the Therme Euskirchen, the Eifel Therme Zikkurat in Mechernich- Firmenich, or the Eifelbad in Bad Münstereifel. The water sports lake in the Zülpich La-ke Park is especially interesting for people interested in diving, surfing, sailing, rowing, swimming, and fishing. The outdoor pool in the forest by the “Steinbachtalsperre” (re-servoir) is especially attractive for family outings. Kronenburg Lake and Freilingen Lake are embedded into the beautiful landscape of the Eifel. Both lakes are wonderfully lo-cated in the center of native nature and have fantastic water quality. They invite to take some time to relax, cool off on a hot day, and simply have fun with friends and family.
