Eifel Source Path

Water shapes our landscape: wide meadows, deep cut v-shaped valleys, large and small streams, water sources, and swamps and ponds are habitats that give this region a special charm. This 71km long looped trail leads you to different water sources. To the natural sources of the Eifel rivers Ahr and Urft and to the source of the Eifel Ro-man Aqueduct, a 2000 years ago man-made technical masterpiece in the Urft valley in Nettersheim. 

Again in 2022, the EifelSteig hiking bus is in operation and provides a convenient and environmentally friendly connection to the EifelSteig and its partner trails. 

Stages

  1. Arrival in Nettersheim (also possible with Deutsche Bahn by train) 
  2. Nettersheim - Kronenburg (24km)
  3. Kronenburg - Blankenheim (24km)
  4. Blankenheim - Nettersheim (23km) departure in the afternoon or evening
