Forest, water and wilderness can be experienced up close in the Eifel National Park. Located 65 kilometers southwest of Cologne, the large protected area is on the way back to the natural cycle of nature. On 110 square kilometers you will find many opportunities to explore the Eifel National Park in hiking boots.
Hiking on your own
The Eifel National Park is not the only, but definitely a worthwhile destination for hikers in the North Eifel. 240 km of hiking trails go through the National Park, including very famous trails such as the EifelSteig and the Wilderness Trail which can be tackled on your own. The same applies to the five themed tours and the barrier-free trail system, including "Wild Kermeter" and "Wild Path".
On tour with a ranger
In addition, guided tours with a ranger are offered several times a week and are free of charge, or you accompany a certified National Park Ranger. In addition, there are numerous special programs for child-ren, families, and school groups. Additionaly, tours with translation into sign language and other bar-rier-free options are also available.
Always well informed
The five National Park Gates in the region are ideal Starting points for hiking and cycling in the Eifel National Park. A new attraction is the exhibition Wilderness Dreams in Vogelsang IP. The nationalpark is easily accessible by public transportation.
