EifelSteig
"Where Rocks and Water accompany You"
Rocks, water, forests, and a magnificent cultural landscape accompany you on the 313km long premi-um hiking trail from Aachen to Trier. The EifelSteig, Germany’s most beautiful hiking trail 2015, can be hiked over a period of a few days or you may chose to hike stages of it. The EifelSteig goes over 4 stages through the North Eifel.
Water & History

Between Einruhr and Gemünd, on a rocky 21 km trail around the water reservoir and later on the grounds of Vogelsang IP with its visitor center and the two exhibitions (NS Documentation - Destiny: Master race and Wilderness Spaces and Dreams).
National Park & Monastery

If you hike from Gemünd to the stage point Steinfeld Monastery (17.5 km), you will experience a diver-se backdrop mix of forests, panoramic views, valley- and mountain paths. The Salvatorian Monastery with Basilica hosts a guest house and café with a monastery shop on its premises.
National Spectacle & Romans

From the Steinfeld Monastery, you hike a 22.5 km long stretch through floodplains and wetlands with rare plants and colourful butterflies, past Roman relicts through Nettersheim all the way to Blanken-heim.
Middle Ages & Juniper

On the 17,5 km long hiking stage from Blankenheim, with its well-knows castle and the Roman Villa, to Mirbach, you will walk along the Blankenheim heights, the “Schafbachtal” and the altitudes around Ripsdorf with the Lampertstal. The local juniper slopes impress and give a spacial character.
