Olef

Explore the Eifel village of Olef, its wonderful village square with its historical half-timbered houses and church. Since the 19th century the historical centre of Schleiden- Olef has hardly changed.

The heart of the historical Olef centre is the triangular square, where half-timbered houses were
constructed after a fire in 1697. An antique, arts and crafts market takes place in these historical surroundings annually in August. From spring until All Hallows day, the Olef valley railway train travels on the listed railway tracks between Kall and Hellenthal on Sundays and public holidays. As a highlight in the historical centre of Olef, it is the only village square crossing in whole of Germany.
