The Hellenthal Birds of Prey Compound Wildlife Park is located high above the “Oleftalsperre” (Olef reservoir) and is one of Europes most important Birds of prey parks. Numerous native wild species such as red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, mouflon, wild boar, lynx, and many more show themselves in their natural grace and beauty. Spacious animal enclosures with contact gates in which animals can be fed without disturbing fences. For the youngest visitors we have the petting zoo with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, goats, and geese, and a playground to burn off some energy. By visiting the small Indian village even Dads will be reminded of their childhood dreams.

Visiting the kings of the skies

The Birds of Prey station is located in midst of the Wildlife Park and the impressive birds of prey flight show is unforgettable. Proud eagles fly high into the sky and upon the call of the falconer they nosedive rapidly onto his hand. Likewise, hawks and owls also delight visitors with their appearance and in the spring you also get to see many young birds. 

Experience these majestic birds up close. Under the assistance of a falconer you can hold a bird of prey on your hand and take a picture so you can hold on to this special memory. 

You can even meet the famous giant Andean Condor, “Santiago” during your visit.
