Are you a casual cyclist or more of a mountain climber? It doesn’t really matter, be-cause the North Eifel offers everything from demanding tours to leisurely routes with exciting stops along the river and stream valleys.
The Eifel region is part of the highlands and is up to 700m high. In combination with the rather flat Zülpich- Euskirchen Börde in the north and the numerous river- and stream valleys, there is a cycling path for everyone, from hilly and difficult to flat and relaxing. This is the region with the most castles in Europe, and you can explore them on the Moated Castle Route. Because of the special quality of this route, it has been awarded 3 stars from ADFC.
If you are interested, you can rent a Pedelecs bike or a trekking bike at different sta-tions.
You will find the perfect cycling route for you and your family within this extensive and well-signposted cycling route network. The district of Euskirchen has been awarded the title of “Cycle-Friendly-District” and is therefore always optimizing trail quality and route markings.

Biking for everyone
Athletic cyclists can conquer the Eifel Heights route or take the Mountainbike along the MTB-route network “Eifel free ride”. Leisurely cyclists can find ideal starting and finishing points on the 19 Cycle and Hike train stations.
Bike-Shuttle
Another option of transportation is offered by the Bike-Travel-Express in Mechernich. The transport service transports up to 16 guests „from doesn’t matter where from to doesn’t matter where to“.
