LVR Industrial Museum/ Müller cloth factory

When the business of the Müller cloth factory in Euskirchen-Kuchenheim deteriorated in 1961 the owners locked the gates and left everything standing as it was on the last day of work. The daily calendar from 1961 still hangs on the wall and a coffee mug stands next to the machines. Gently and lovingly the factory was renovated and converted into an industrial museum. The museum guides set filigree spinning machines and thundering looms into motion on every guided tour. Films and stands tell you about the working conditions, the heat and steam in the dye workshops, and the experiences and feelings of the former employees. Even the steam engine from 1903 occasionally comes to life grunting and groaning.

  • The LVR Industrial Museum/ Müller cloth factory is located in 1,2 kilometers walking distance from the station Kuchenheim. From Euskirchen train station the museum can be reached via bus line 874 from Monday to Saturday (bus stop: Kuchenheim Markt, 300 meters walking distance) and on Sunday via bus line 870 (bus stop: Rheinisches Industriemuseum).
