Some hiking offers are also possible with a dog. Also in 2022 the Eifelsteig hiking bus and the Eifel hiking & cycling bus are in operation and provide a comfortable and environmentally friendly connection to the Eifelsteig & other hiking trails in the North Eifel.

Our recommendations for a short vacation
hiking picnic "EifelSchleifen & EifelSpuren"
Our hiking picnic offers a day of hiking on a selected "EifelSchleife" or "EifelSpur" and the well-deserved refreshment from your backpack with regional specialities. On your hiking day, you will receive the picnic on your arrival in the North Eifel at the excellent National Park host "Krewelshof Eifel" in Mechernich-Obergartzem. The picnic will be handed over to you in an environmentally friendly paper carrier bag and can be collected daily from the farm café from 9:00 am.
We recommend booking the hiking picnic three days before your trip to the North Eifel.
EifelSpuren

EifelSchleifen & EifelSpuren in a culinary way
truly. good. hiking! can be experienced on the EifelSchleifen & EifelSpuren. These circular hiking trails with a length of between 3 and 42 km let you immerse yourself in the northern Eifel. The course of the trails, the attractions along the way and the special features make for an extraordinary hiking experience.
With selected day arrangements, you can combine a special hiking day on an EifelSchleife or EifelSpur with culinary delights. Before, during and/or after your hike, you will be spoiled by excellent hosts.
The meals and selected drinks are generally included in the packages. The exact services and the days you can hike can be found in the particular package. As a practical companion, you will receive the hiking map of the Eifelverein as well as the pocket guide and the overview maps of the EifelSchleifen & EifelSpuren with your booking. If you extend your hiking day by one night, you will receive the regional GuestCard for free transport with the regional public transport. The Nordeifel voucher for a day arrangement is also a practical gift idea.
We recommend booking minimum 5 to 7 days in advance of your hiking trip.
Roman Canal Trail
(Römerkanal-Wanderweg)
The 120 kilometre long Roman Canal Trail from Nettersheim to Cologne follows the route of the Eifel Roman Aqueduct. About 50 information panels are installed along the way. Obtain a useful companion in form of a free printable pocket guide and an archeological hiking guide. The hosts along the Roman Canal Trail invite to spend the night.
Rur-Olef-Route
The Eifelsteig is supplemented by theThe Eifelsteig is complemented by the Rur-Olef-Route. The Rur-Olef-Route runs from Gemünd via Schleiden to Hellenthal. From Hellenthal, the route leads to Rurberg. Along the way you will get to know the beauty of the Oleftal and wonderful open landscapes.
On Old Paths through the Eifel

The tour "On old paths through the Eifel" (79.5 km) offers ideal opportunities to experience the northern Eifel with its beauty on foot. Follow the premium hiking trail Eifelsteig and the adventure routes Rur-Olef-Route, Burgen-Routeand Eifeler Quellenpfad.

At a three-day getaway, you will get to know the wilderness of tomorrow. The Eifel National Park is characterized by near-natural deciduous forests, wide panoramic views, naturally flowing streams and a fascinating lake landscape.
Eifel Source Path
Water characterizes our landscape: wide floodplains, deeply cut notch valleys, small and large streams, springs, swamps and ponds are habitats that give this region a special charm. This hike would like to take you on the 71 km long circular route to springs.

EifelSteig over short distances
As an alternative to the official stages, you can also hike the Eifelsteig premium hiking trail - Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2015 - in the northern Eifel on shortened stages. This leaves enough time for the special sights on the left and right of the Eifelsteig.
