Eifel Traces (EifelSpuren)
really.good.hiking (echt.gut.wandern) is the promise we make to the hiking world of the future with the EifelSpuren&EifelSchleifen. The 18 themed Eifel Spuren trails are fully signposted and all trails have catchy names. In the beautiful Lampertstal in Blankenheim, with its impressive juniper hillside, one trail takes you to the "Tuscany of the Eifel". The "Clothier Trail" ("Tuchmachers Fährte") takes you on the traces of the formative industry of Euskirchen. The Robber Barrons is the theme of one trail in Hellenthal. Experience history on the trails "Water for Cologne" (Wasser für Köln) in Mechernich, "Knights, Romans, Beets" (Ritter, Römer, Rüben) in Zülpich and the "Silver Treasure" (Silberschatz) in Nettersheim. You will encounter special floristic features on the EifelSpur "Home of Heather" (Heideheimat) near Kall, the "Wilderness Trail" (Wildinspfad) near Dahlem and the "Herbal Path" (Kräuterpfad) which connects Nettersheim and Bad Münstereifel. Popular trails such as the long-distance trails EifelSteig, Roman Canal Trail and the AhrSteig are connected with the new trails. You are spoiled for choices!
Traces (Spuren) for everyone
The tours vary in difficulty and, with a length of between 3 and 40 km, are also suitable for different tastes. Possible are thus walks, shorter hikes, but also challenging tours with some altitude meters to overcome. All "Eifel Traces" (EifelSpuren) are laid out as circular hiking trails, so that your hike is easy to plan. In many cases there is a Eifel platform "cycle and hike trainstation" nearby. Getting lost is practically impossible, since all trails are marked continuously according to a uniform system and are also signposted. Just follow the markings with the logo of the EifelSpuren and the name of your respective tour.
