Eifel National Park
"The jungle of tomorrow"
Forests, water, and wilderness can be experienced up close in the Eifel National Park. The large scale protected area is located 65km south west of Cologne and has been returning to the natural cycle of nature for the past 10 years. You have many opportuni-ties to explore the Eifel National Park on its 110 square kilometres. You can hike through deciduous forests, past meadows, lakes, rivers, and interestingly shaped rocks. Including the season specific features such as the blooming narcissi and the sparkling winter forests.
Out and about in the Eifel National Park
Alone or with others, as long as its hiking: You can explore the Eifel National Park on foot along the signposted hiking trails, for example the demanding “Wilderness Trail” or on the varied “Themed tours”. Or you can be accompanied by a ranger or a National Park guide free of charge. Additionally, numerous programs for children, fami-lies, and school classes are available. Barrier free tours and tours with sign language are also possible.

Our ranger was a good soul, he told great stories about our trail. He gave us a whole new perspective of the nature and history of the Eifel National Park. It was a great ex-perience!
