Blankenheim
Pretty houses in half-timbered and stone construction characterize the centre of Blankenheim, which is over-towered by its mighty castle. One of the most romantic spots of Blankenheim is Zuckerberg lane. Here you can not only admire the oldest half-timbered houses, but also Blankenheim’s narrowest house and the Ahr Quelle (Ahr source) which is set in the vaulted cellar of a half-timbered house, built in 1726.
Nearby is the Eifel museum with the guildhall, a representative of the framework construction of the drapers’ guild from the 17th century. Regular tours are offered by the tour guide Wolfgang Doppelfeld. Or download the "Lauschtour App" and experience the historic Blankenheim with your children from a whole new, digital side!
