Eifelsteig on short paths

Experience the Eifelsteig in the northern Eifel on four stages. Between Einruhr and Gemünd you hike on rocky paths around the reservoirs and reach the former NS-Ordensburg Vogelsang with the new visitor center and the two exhibitions "NS-Dokumentation" and "Wildnis(t)räume". From there, the Eifelsteig leads through narrow valleys to the stage town of Gemünd.

The next stage between Gemünd and Steinfeld Monastery offers a varied mix of forest, panoramic, valley and high-altitude trails. The stage location is the medieval Steinfeld Monastery with its Romanesque basilica.

From Steinfeld Monastery, the trail leads through valley meadows and wetlands with rare plants and colorful butterflies through Nettersheim to Blankenheim.

The last stage from Blankenheim to Mirbach leads over the heights of Blankenheim down to the Schafbach valley and back up to the plateau around Ripsdorf. The route is varied, passing through meadows and forests, over plateaus, around the extensive juniper areas around Kalvarienberg near Alendorf and down into the Lampertstal (valley) with its unique flora.

Also in 2022, the Eifelsteig hiking bus is in use and provides a comfortable and environmentally friendly connection to the Eifelsteig & its partner trails.
