Barrier free Nature Adventure Area "Wild Kermeter" and "Wild Path"
Walking along the "Wild Kermeter"
For hikers with and without disabilities , the Eifel National Park has constructed the bar-rier free Nature Adventure Region of “Wild Kermeter” with guidance- and information systems, sanitary facilities, and seating opportunities. Starting point is the hiking parking lot “Kermeter Höhe”. From there, the 5km long hiking trail network leads you through National Park forests to the view point “Hirschley” with an extraordinary panoramic view. The view is breathtaking and has been awarded a prize by the WDR television viewers.
Walking along the "Wild Path"
An additional barrier free nature experience in the Eifel National Park is possible with a hike along the nature discovery path “Wild Path”. If you want to learn more about the forces and effects of storms on the forest, test your strength on a climbing path, or feel like a scientist in his research station, this is the place to visit. At ten, mostly interactive stations, visitors of all ages can learn about wildlife, forest development, and the diversity of flora and fauna. The 1.5km long path connects to the Nature Adventure Region of “Wild Kermeter” which provides parking for handicapped visitors, a bus stop, and toilets. The first 250m of the trail go over a boardwalk that allows for a special insight into nature.
